Re: Any new 38 ZR owners out there?
Well guess this is as good a time and place to start weighing in.......and this seems to be the appropriate place since I too have just purchased a 2006 38 ZR.
For those of you in the northeast who may have been at the NYC and or A/C NJ boatshows, hoping you remember the great 38 ZR on display at both shows....the silvergelcoat, red and black one that Typhoon Performance Marine of Tom's River NJ was showing. Well, lucky me.............that's the one that I have purchased. Not only am I excited about the boat, but even more excited about having met and dealt with Frank Civitano of Typhoon, as well as many of the Donzi personnel present at both shows! Frank has helped me through the entire purchase process with a lot of personal insights and hints from his years of experience, making the whole thing a breeze. The rest of the people I have met from Typhoon and Donzi have sure made me feel like a welcome new member of what seems to be a great family of like minded enthusiasts! Thanks Frank and thanks Donzi! Like most NE boaters, we still have a few weeks to wait before we can get back in the water...and you've gotta know I'm the most anxious guy in NJ right now! I'll keep everyone posted on the great ride! PS her name is A.S.A.P. Ray |
Re: Any new 38 ZR owners out there?
Is that the one with the V-10's?

Re: Any new 38 ZR owners out there?
I have a ZR Comp- similar hull ...
My ZR has been in some very rough water, wind chop and large swells and handles it all very smooth and extremely predicable. As a past owner of some of the other big name offshore brands i am happy to report the ZR is the best so far that i have experienced when it comes to ease of handling, comfort and speed. My .02 worth... Dave |

Re: Any new 38 ZR owners out there?
Jigsaw---Thanks for the re-post of the thumbnails of the 38ZR from the Javits show!
Last year, significant other and I, started updates on a place in Beach Haven West (Lagoons) opposite LBI. Had to know the first thing I wanted to do with the house was to put in brand new 60' dock along back of property.....you know,,kinda to see what would look better there....a 35' or a 38' ...decisions decisions......haha. So yes, my boating will be in the area of Baregat from Tom's River down to A/C ! |
Re: Any new 38 ZR owners out there?
Does Donzi offer an optional ladder for the 38 ZR?

Re: Any new 38 ZR owners out there?
ASAP: Thank You for the cudos its folks like you that make it a pleasure to be in the buisness, I like many other performance boaters started out doing something else before the boat buisness and my love for Performance boats has landed me here. I was a Typhoon Customer pryor to selling for them, they worked on my boat, supercharged my boat and took and new I was a Donzi guy from the day they met me. Out of all the 38ZRs I have had built your boat is the best looking one so far. I will be with you all the way and take as much time as you need.
Frank Harper; The way the drives are set up for staggered operation you cant use a ladder in the back, they do make some for performance boats that hang over the side I would check into and good luck with your new purchase you are going to love her. |
Re: Any new 38 ZR owners out there?
