Bobthebuilder sets new record with Donzi today!!

LOL, well they said it was the fastest pick of finishes for a new boat to be built they had ever seen, so I guess that is some kind of record.:D

In a couple of months when finished, I will proudly add a 38ZR to the fleet.

Thanks to Fastboats.com a deal has been brokered where I have traded my 03 Nor Tech for the new Donzi. I think it is a great boat and look forward to doing some poker runs etc. with many of the Donzi owners I have come to know over the years.

I arrived at the plant this morning to make my selections at 9:15 am and was out the door, all done an hour later. Thanks for all the help Gerry, Lisa and Craig. Paint graphic and colors, upholstery, instrumentation all done.
Great people to work with.:D

Bob

HI Bob,

Is there anything else you are going to try to fit in during this 10-day period?!?!?!? And I thought I was busy!

Friends of mine have the 38 ZR w/ 700's - it's a beautiful boat that rides like it's on rails. You should enjoy it quite a bit!

Airpacker 05-22-2008 08:11 AM

Test ride, Test ride, I wanna test ride :)

Congrats AGAIN Bob

Ok, what power???????

Hmmmmmm, seems like congradulating you on new boat purchases is becoming a habit. :)

Tom A. 05-22-2008 09:27 AM

You knew the diesels wouldn't be fast enough for Bob!:p

Actually Craig, yes. The incorporation of Ft. Myers Offshore, Inc. !! Very close now as lawyer has everything he needs. It has been a lot of work since we will be a non profit.
I am afraid I have allowed the offshore boating world to take over my life...... but I'm enjoying it.

I test drove the 38 ZR w 700's at the St. Pete's poker run. Great poker run boat.:D

Hey Sean. Test rides in Ontario mid July to Sept. I just went with stock 525's. I like the idea of regular gas being available anywhere. Easy to maintain, warranty, stock parts etc.

Hey , Tom. Could be true but I have to say I am not disappointed in the NT Yanmar package so far.
See you on the water.:D

2 - 50 ft boats is a lot to look after. Whoever buys old Predator will not be disappointed. That has been the most awesome boat I have ever owned. But it's time to move on.
The 38 ZR will be a fun boat and easy to look after.
I expect I will leave the Donzi in Canada and keep as a fresh water boat and after this summer the new NT will be based in FL. Saves trucking back and forth in spring and fall.:D

Hey there, good thinking Bob. The NewArk is posted at 2 bucks per, Cambell's is at 1.58 and I gotta think Sandfiel will be somewhere in between. Even that "little" donzi is gonna make some Muskoka Marina operators wery happy at fill up time.

Should be a nice all round reliable poker runner for sure. I look forward to that test drive.

ktron 05-22-2008 02:15 PM

Bob, Congrats again!!! Very happy for you! Hope to see you soon because I know I owe you some brews for helping me and answering my questions about navigation from Key West to Marco last couple years.:D

No problem Christian. Your English is a whole lot better than my French. I think close to 90MPH but some here will know better. I'm kinda past that 100+ stuff. Maybe I'm just gettin old ! LOL or just starting to realize it !
If you have time when you get to Georgian Bay call me and it may work to meet.:D

Hey Rick. I'm spending so much time in FL that Canada hardly feels like home anymore. Best of both worlds I guess. If you ever get a chance to go up in July or Aug it's drop dead gorgeous. As for the other 10 months....... well..... LOL:D
Bob

Tom A. 05-23-2008 06:48 AM

90 is fair number for that boat. It may be tough to achieve with the fresh water up there. I know I loose a few MPH when I go to 1000 Islands. There will be one heck of a Donzi contingency up there this year. We are bringing at least 4 up from NJ including mine. It will be nice to run with you finally. No more big yellow streak flying by my little single engine!
As for the NT, that is a great package. My friend had the trip package in his 50 Hustler and that thing boogied for a diesel.
Good luck with the Cancun Run it is a great cause and should be an awesome trip. Make sure you bring the appropriate "safety" devices being you will be skirting Cuba.

Cubans can't paddle as fast as Bob's Nortech cruises!

What happens when a Cuban gets a flat tire?

HE DROWNS...........:D

bowtye8 05-28-2008 06:43 PM

Congrats Bob:D Another fine ride.
Bob you need to have a OSO ride day. A 38 donzi would be a nice ride:) would like to see how that handles at 60 in sloppy water.
Just wondering if the Donzi is sorta like a Fountain, likes to ride on top of the water.....so 60 maybe 70 minium to ride on top????

Dennis

Shanghied Again 05-31-2008 08:01 AM

Congradulations Bob. I guess we will be paceing 1000 Islands Poker Run with your Donzi and my Donzi. Best of luck with her. and yes Lisa, Jerry and the crew at Donzi are great people.

Thank you for your contribution. :) That 700 package is sweet. I came sooo close to going with it but settled on the 525's. Won't be long now before we are on the water with it.
Thanks,:)
