Pete, Good to hear the boat has a bravo. Thats a plus no matter what.. ;) Yes a cam & cylinder heads or head work can also improve things.. I sent you an email by the way.. :)

Pete,
Jamie is absolutely the hot ticket to get your 22ZX running right.

Here is my 3-year ownership blog with a similar 22ZX:

I have a 2002 22zx with a 350mag and alpha it goes 60-62.On a 4 blade 24-inch pitch prop.

I just picked up a 98 22zx powered with a 502 and a Bravo one drive, I am wondering what prop will work the best for top speed or all around? Any 502 feed back would be great... Right now I have a 24 pitch bravo one runs around 70 mph.

22 B1 for power & skiing, 24 b1 is probably your best all around prop on that hull, bit a 26b1 may work for you as well with your power. It will depend on the altitude, weight, etc.. If the 26 works it will probably be the fastest prop & then the 24 would be your power/skiing prop.. ;) Jamie

Thanks for the info... FYI Im in Wisconsin, running in the great lakes it seemed like it has excessive prop torque when changing RPM. No trim tabs currently on the boat, would they be worth the effort?

Trim tabs can help, as set of midsize ones should work nicely if you get a little chine walking or porposing.. :) :bigbird: J

What is the pitchon the prop, I have sold many of the 22ZXs BEWARE of the 350 Mags with the Alpha drives they did not hold up, to much HP running through a drive that was only good for 300hp not 310 also the 22ZX is a heavy boat 3800lbs dry, they switched to the Bravos in the 2001 up the boat with a 350 Mag on saltwater would run 62, on fresh 58. On a 1999 $19,000 without a trailer in this market is high just sold a 1998 with a trailer and a 502/415hp for $11,000
Best of Luck

Where do you sell boats? I am interested in a 22zx and live in Jersey. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks
