1.never been up close and personal with one-whats under the front?
2.with the 496ho what will they run real world gps?
3.are they just for the lake or can they handle open water with nasty chop/swell?
thanks in advance.

I had an 06 22 Shelby...It ran 77 with a 496 HO...It ran Awesome in the small stuff...Doubt that it would run real good in big stuff..Im sure it would be a challenge in the big stuff..3-4 ft..

My 18C ran great in 4ft+ seas...I guess it is just what one is use to......there are not many boats out there in the size range with similar power that would stand up to a Donzi IMO.......
They take some time and skill to drive but fun as hell when you get it down pat....

Shelbys have a raised X. This boat should run 73. You might squeeze 75 out of it in perfect conditions. Of course a bit higher if on salt water. I run mine in rough on the Great Lakes all the time.

Faster hull designs are usually not as good in the rough as a true deep vee. Mine runs 83-85 with a 525 EFI. I can crush 2-3 footers. 4 footers are harder. Storage in the Donzi is minimal with a ridiculous little storage bin up front that doesn't even hold a ski. I customized mine and opened up the front for ample storage and room to sleep on occasion.
