It's already on the ship, probably somewhere around the Panama Canal now.

As far as I know, there are no proper modern offshore boats for private use in Australia. I've only ever seen very old Cigarettes and Scarabs here. We should turn some heads with this beast when it arrives.

The downside is noone here can give us some tips on how to drive it and look after it.

I have read that the props can throw blades etc and getting up on a plane is hard and that you should never turn at speed...

This has Maximus 34s.

There is no doubt much to learn.

Anyone got some tips we can use? I'd love to hear from you.

congrats! I actually called on this boat before I bought one that was closer to me- you will love it! Mine has the same setup, just remember to be gentle on her coming on plane, I have thrown a blade already when I rushed her up. I normally trim to about 3 1/2, tuck the drives, the props will break loose around 2000 rpm, back off a little and they will hook up, then it is off to the races. I have hit 88.7 mph during warm temps, waiting for the right day but hope to hit 90+ now that it has cooled off. When you are getting ready to turn everything is backwards coming from a non step hull, dont trim down because it raises the stern and drives, just leave a little positive trim and dont go blasting around corners. You will get used to it quickly, it is really a joy to drive, work your speeds up as you get more comfortable. Enjoy it and keep us posted!

Yeah Go Fast Scott,cheers for that. It should be a ton of fun. I'm Melbourne based. We've got a huge salt water bay here so the trip to the other side should be a bit shorter now. It will take about 35 minutes at 55 mph.

Wow!!!!! Very cool video dood! Congrats on the ZR, she's BEAUTIFUL!!!! When I was in Sydney in '08 there was a beautiful silver Cigarette Top Gun I snapped a couple shots of while i was riding the ferry back to the hotel from lunch (talk about feelin like a tourist). A friend of mine has a condo in downtown Melbourne right on the harbor......and doesnt have a boat. Maybe he'll see yours and change his mind. Then again maybe not, as a former racecar driver, he may not care about speed anymore.

Nice work, I am looking at buying something very similar at the moment, would be mad not to take advantage of the strong AUD!

If you don't mind me asking what did it cost to freight down? Im up on the Goldy, so would be shipping into Brisbane, but imagine it would be much the same.
