Take one of Tres classes, you will learn so much about how your boat works and you'll walk away a much better, more confident driver! Congrats, it is a beautiful boat!

No it was not a stepped hull and I do plan to take it slow. It handles amazing but the time I hit 90 I did feel like I was not touching the water and it did make me nervous. All good things take time!
It is unlike carving a turn in a non-step boat because if the bow catches it will lift the stern and spin you out faster than you can say "why an I wet?". Don't let that scare you just learn what this boat can do and you will be amazed at how awesome it is, -Tom |
Very nice,

TomA. Thanks for the advise. I spent a day driving it with Rick Merrola and we did a good amount of starts and working on trim position for the boat. We did not do a lot of top end stuff or high speed turns he said that would be another day if I wanted to do that. If I decide to do a poker run Rick said he would be happy to go with me and show me the ropes more for that type of driving. I love the advice and will play with some of these suggestions next summer.

Rick knows these boats well.
Talk to him and spend a day with him in the spring. Even if you have to pay him, it is worth it. Enjoy it and hopefully I will get up there for the 1000 Islands Poker Run this year. |
Tom A. Sounds good and hope to meet you if you come up let me know.
