Default 2005 33zx info??

I'm looking at a '05 33zx with 502 Mags. I'm pretty certain with the weight and length of this boat that the ride will be great but I'm a little concerned about top end. Can anyone that has or knows someone that has this set up tell me what top end I can expect? I'd be happy with a consistent 70mph but searching online I'm getting mixed information.

Thanks in advance for any info on this boat and set up!!

The 33zx is one of my favorites. I actually had to back out of a deal on a beautiful 99 with hp500's at the last minute...... The first year for the stepped hull was the end of 98. It seems like there is something that changed in the setup or weight between 99 and 2000. I have talked to several owners of 99's and they seem allot slower with the same power than a 2000 and later. The one I almost owned came from the dealer with pro-charged hp500's and was said to run 82 then and 72 now with the 500's redone and no chargers. I talked to another guy with a 99 that had 540ci motors at 650hp and he said it ran 78. This seemed slow to me but all ads up if you use the 20hp per mph rule of thumb. I know there are guys on here with 2000's and newer seeing 80 with 500efi's and I talked to a guy with a 2001 with 500efi's and pro-chargers that was said to run 91. One owner told me there was a weight difference from 99 - 2000 ...... not sure. I know the Daytona's are a Kevlar layup and stick built interior which drops a good bit of weight. I know of a 2001 Daytona here in Pittsburgh with 600sc's that runs 86 but all the boats I am talking about are regular ZX's

In 2005 that boat should have came with 496's not 502's. The 496ho's ran about 74 so if someone put the 502mag mpi's in it I would guess 72 on a good day. Just my opinion based on allot of research.
