Default Will a Tacoma pull a 22zx?

I got a 2011 Tacoma access cab with the long bed, V6, 6spd, I've read its rated at around 5000-6000 lbs or so towing, you think it would pull a 22zx ok?

That boat weighs around 4000 lbs, plus trailer, fuel, gear, coolers, stereo, anchors, lines, tools, etc. Then you are loading your truck with passengers coolers, gear, etc.

You will be at or over your maximum towing capacity EASILY. This is not a point you want to be at when you have an emergency and have to take evasive action. It looks like you are lifted with bigger tires as well, which will also decrease your 'grunt' to pull it.

IMHO, not a good idea.

I don't think pulling it will be a big problem... but stopping it might get tricky....

Your real weak point with that truck is going to be the clutch. If it was an automatic you would probably be ok but Toyota does not put a very heavy clutch in those trucks. Think of it as a fuse for the driveline.

i would say to a local ramp it would be ok but going down the interstate you are going to have issues...having a manual trans is the best thing you got going for you if you know how to use it to your advantage..

Don't forget the leaf springs breaking. LOL.

Then again, haven't had anything newer than 09 come in for those.....yet.

I pulled my 21ft scarab for ten years with my 01 2.7 manual Tacoma with a lift kit and 34s. Truck has 230,000 miles original clutch. I still move my p29 around the yard with the truck if needed. I now pull my p29 on a steel trailer with my 03 sequoia with out issues. Toyotas are way over built. You will be fine. Just use low range to pull up the ramp. Saves the clutch.
