Default Going to look at a 38zx What To Expect

Going to look at a 2001 38zx with 575sci motors. What kind of hp do these motors make stock? Also Roughly what kind of MPH should this boat be running. It seems that everything I read is that these boats run a little slower. Will the boat run 80-82 in fresh water or is it more of a 73-75 mph boat? Any insight would be great.

a 575 makes 575 hp (maybe a tad more as blue motors usually are) GlassDave had a 38zx with 525sc's and I think he was around 80 so with 575s it should be low mid 80's when properly setup.

A 500 efi boat will do 74
Check the transom up near the exhaust per glassdave that area is really the only place that's been of concern on those boats

Mine runs 67+ but that's with 5 blades. Gets real good mid range. That's with 500efis. There great boats. Good luck.

575 sci with boxes should run low 80's GPS.
Should have 31 or 32p b4 props turning 5k to 5.2k wot
Is this the one advertised for $39,900?

Check the transum. Mine is the one that glassdave replaced. The pop up cleats on swim platform leak and it runs down the exhaust into the transum.

I have 615 hp 500 EFI's and I get low 80's.

Might be for sale if interested.

I would not expect low to mid 80's, 78-80 more likely. Glassdaves own boat he said ran a good number with a set of labbed props that was never replicated with any others

Coming back from PIB on Halloween I saw 72.8 on gps. I think I could of seen more if I stayed in it but I was close to the launch and it was starting to get a little choppier out. Mine might be for sale mid summer next year.
