Default 28 ZX with small blocks?

Anyone out there running the 28 ZX with the twin 350 MPI's? Looking at one but have always had big blocks. Seems like a single big block might work better in this size and weight with half the maintenance? Thoughts, comments, speeds? Thanks in advance.

Spent a lot of time in 28ZX with a 502MPI. Awesome boat, but lackluster performance with that motor...needed more power. Hopefully the twins provide more performance,

28zx with 350 mpi's is a fine boat for toying around, but definitely lacks performance. A single bbc would need 800+ hp to push you close to 80. I have supercharged 377's and it's just about right for the boat. Usually run out of hull before power/speed. With a bbc you'll need a big more expensive lower unit setup as compared to Bravo 1's...so it's all in what you're looking for. I'd prefer twins over single for the comfort of losing an engine and being stranded.

Similar to what the one that used to be on my dock ran. You can find them out there with Scorpions which would be a really nice package. Great all around boat with the twin 350 MPI's. Could always repower with the Merc 383's when the 350's get tired!

That's my plan. (383s) The boat runs pretty good with the 350 MPIs

I have a friend with a twin SB's in his 28ZX, his photo is all over FB from the Ray Nuchereno Poker Run here in Buffalo, NY.
The boat literally flies!!!
