Allot of discussion about which is faster 30 Skater or 32 DW. How about a side by side
comparison, similar set-ups and same power.

I have a brand new 2007 30 Skater (full pleasure boat) with T/300xs, and am willing to
share detailed data about the performance, top end rpm and mph, rpm vs mph at 500 rpm
increments, fuel burn for each increment, and so on.

I would love to do a side by side with mine and a 30 AMT, a 32 DW, and a 30 motion. These 4 represent the best of the best in twin engine, cats, O/B.

Any takers.

Thats a great idea. Might be hard to find a 30 AMT with 300xs though. 30 Motion with 300xs runs 105-107 I have heard. 30 Skater is quite a bit larger than a 30 Motion also. I would like to see a 32 DW side by side with a 30 Skater.

Apples to apples, is the only way to compare them. To much difference in power from 300xs to 300x to 2.5s. A friend of mine Chris F. (OSO Tantrum) in NJ has a 30 AMT, but it is probably 300X. There is also a guy here in SW Florida with a 30 Motion (OSO dgduck13), but it is also probably 300X.

My 30 Skater was sitting near a beautiful 30 Motion earlier this season at Page Racing in Ft Myers, the Skater is much bigger that to Motion. We also had it next to a 28 owned by another friend Jim S. (OSO JIMKID Motorsports), the 30 Skater looks like a giant next to the 28 Skater. When Jim and I were out in my 30, back in April, he said we were crushing water that he would not go out in with his 28. The boat is actually almost 31 feet long, from transom to bow.

Dan,

It was a please speaking with you earlier today. It sounds like you are really enjoying your32DW.

real simple, does the 30 skater with 2.5's or 300's run over 122mph???, one thing to run a top speed, but the DW cleans up in rough water.

That is a great question. However, the 30 Skater has not been around long enough to really find out. How many 30 Skaters have been built compared to 32 Doug Wrights?

What has Ryan's 30 Skater run with 2.5's? Anyone know?

DiamondPerformance 09-27-2007 02:16 PM

30ft Skater with 300xs runs 106-108mph, 32ft Doug Wright with 300xs runs 108-111 mph.

hmmmmmmm lets not forget a 30 Spectre...my 1998 with 2003 300x's (not XS's) ran 107 on a conservative set-up

As an owner of a 2007 30 Skater with T/300xs, I do not believe the above is an entirely accurate statement. I would very much like to speak with those reporting 106-108 to see what the conditions were (# pob and fuel level). While that is achievable in a very controlled test, (20 gal of fuel in boat, 1 pob) I do not think that represents real-world use and speeds. I would realy like to know what others are seeing in speeds with several pob and enough fuel to actually go somewhere.

I will post detailed data next week in my skater thread, and put a link to it from here.
