Cool,
Just got done putting mine back together, not much to these things, Shaun walked me thru it. |
The boat is looking really good and I can't wait to hear what you're doing with the motors. There seem to be so few people working on them to see what kind of potential they really have. Dave Bush and Shaun seem be they only ones I've heard of.
I've got a 32 Spectre very similar to Tax Man's and was wondering if you guys tried the 4 blade cleavers on it and if so how did they do compared to the BBlades modified bravo's? I assume they were stock 32 or 34 pitch. Also would love to know more about the 15" mids, who did them, what mod's did you have to do to exhaust etc, any notable difference in how the boat ran with them vs the stock 20" mids or is more of a visual impact? I've got idea's on what the advantages should be but would love to hear real world results. Thanks |

If it would have been a regular rebuild I would have done it myself. This one had a hole in the block behind the VST, and needed 3 new sleeves pressed into the block. That was more than I wanted to do.

FullAuto, I don't want to hijack the tread but... I've tried the three blade 32" cleavers and they worked OK but slip numbers were high, I've actually got the 4 blade bravo's by BBLades now and my slip numbers are great but I can't quite get the RPM's I'd like, that's why I was curious about the 4 blade cleavers. I also threw a blade on one of the bravo's which sucked so now I'm in the market for a second set of props, ones that might be a bit more reliable in a surface piercing configuration. I've got a few other things I'm working on to try and get some more RPM but that's for another thread.
Since my warranty is coming up next spring / summer I was just really curious what kind of mods were working with the 300XS's on the DW. I've always loved the look of the 15" or even 12" mids but wanted to know the benefits of going that route and if they were significant who did the mod. It seems that STR and DBR are the guys to talk to about finding extra power but didn't even realize anyone had done the cut down mids on the 300XS's. What about the exhaust tuner etc? TIA |

I am running hydrotec tuners in place of the stock tuners, this is the only mod needed to convert to 15in mids. Once I get the motors installed and broke in I will start the process of setting the boat up and get a few top speed runs in. |
Where abouts are you in Cape Coral? My family has a place there. Heading down for 2 weeks right after xmas. Boat looks great!
