Great looking boat KAP! I look forward to seeing what mine will do once I get the lower issues worked out. I can say the ride is awesome and superseeded my expectations!

Is that the CK/Berry Cuda converted? Nice ride either way. Can't go wrong with a DW OB boat. I watched them from behind a LOT in my SBI days.

1980Condor460,

I was told not to use swept skegs on the lowers of a twin outboard cat and to use straight skegs, but it seems you're using swept kegs, any reason why straight is preferred?

Will there be a loss of MPH when using swept skeg?

Not the best answer but - that is what came on it. I have no idea on the skegs. I just picked up a set of 1.62 lowers to replace the 1.75's. I would appreciate input if someone has more info. This is my first outboard boat and cat so there is quite a learning curve.

I just picked up this beautiful 300X and I was told that I should not use the swept skeg, and that I should use straight skeg

I believe them, I just would like to know why also

something about a torque tab built into the keg

I just asked the question and was told the swept skegs are mainly used on single engine applications to help with stability. It's supposedly an easy change. The speed difference is probably negligible. My 1.62's are straight. Hope that helps. Interesting question. I would like to hear other possible reasons too.
