32 Doug Wright w merc 400R
Hey Guys has anybody heard any more info on the 32 Doug Wright with Merc 400R outboards. Saw it rigged a while ago and haven't heard anything more on it. I know my boat had the motors on it the end of July and its been slow going but Ive never rigged a boat before so I have no idea what it takes. Steve.

No idea on the DW, but I just read an article on speedonthewater.com that says TNT Marine takes 400-500 man hours and 4-6 weeks to rig a 388 Skater raceboat.

Perhaps this DW will debut at the SBI races in Clearwater Sept 25th - 27th ? . |
Yea Noli I saw this. I Like the push button start above. Think they're in my rig too. put keys out of the way and have buttons out in open. If you have the buttons why have the keys right next to them so they can flap around in the wind while driving. As it is mine are down on driver side of console out of the way. Hope I like the way it works.

Why would you pleasure boat in a full canopy for all extents and purposes race boat? Try docking it and going through traffic in no wake zones looking out of those small windows...SMDH. Add to this the heat factor in South Florida. Nah I'm not buying it. I have several rigging photos with engines mounted. |
First an foremost the 400 Verados are not legal to race......
|
You missed the point. Which is...why would anyone build a full race canopy boat to go pleasure boating???
As for your comments about the engines. Well I know that...not YET is my reply! It would be interesting to see them run on the race course. I think they are extremely heavy and would not do well getting pounded. Only time will tell! |
X-Cat is coming next year....... Perhaps it could race there? What's the scoop Ryan?
