$4000 for either one. Both have around 20 hours behind a single engine daytona with a stock 525efi. perfect shape.

I've got a fresh XR lower laying around if it does anyone some good.

The only difference between the XR and XZ are the upper gears, they are both forged but the XZ's are helical cut. Some like the Helical gear better for the oiling action, a few yrs back, the XZ's were said to be living better in F2 classes. The XR seems to be more popular, but IMHO it's due to marketing and lack of knowledge more than engineering and actual proven durability.

Gary, does the 1.36 ratio in the XZ get controlled by the upper or lower gearset?- I forget

The lower changes the ratio in the xz.
