Default Bravo 1 Question

While Running About 65mph I Felt The Boat Slow Down So I Shut It Down And Have No Forward In The One Drive, But Reverse Works Fine Its Not The Prop So What Could Of Happened To The Drive. When I Put It In Forward Gear And Spin The Prop It Spins Normal With No Noises Forward, But If I Spin It Backwards When It Should Lock It Does Not It Spins Tight Then Loose. Clutchs Maybe

It Is A 2000 Bravo 1 W/ 500 Hps

Thanks

Het Rick, sounds like you broke the floor out of the forward gear. If you need it repaired ship it to me and I can get on it right away, if you dont have anyone in your area that can. I have a few sets of very good gears also, that came out of a 1999 Bravo converted to XR. Let me know asap, the Jammin on the James is around the corner.

i unhooked the shift cable where it hooks to the shift arm and when shifting it by hand i see that when i push it in for reverse it lifts up and pushes on the upper gear , but when i pull it out for forward gear it does not drop and push on the lower gear there is no tension on it at all like when pushing it in for reverse.

You will have to pull out the gear set, you will need a spanner wrench, is this the port or starboard drive?

the top cap needs to be on and the rotation of the engine helps it shift and to realy see eney thing you need to pull the gear pack out and take it apart.
