Do I have to do any mods?

Dennis
Dean doesn't sell the uppers separate but if you could get a set of uppers all you'll have to do is change the verticle shaft in your sportmasters over to the BMax verticle shaft. The verticle shaft spines and coupler are larger on the Bmax than the XR/XZ.

Back4more has Bmax uppers with imco lowers, he can tell you exactly what you would need to do.

After alot of home work and needing a direct bolt on B-Max was the only solution in my case if I wanted a warranty.
Bravos became throw aways. 750 HP and about 4200 lbs. I wish they offered a 1.50 propping took a little testing but we got it sorted out.
I don't consider myself hard but I do drive it easy on easy off and keep it in the water. The minor loss in speed is worth the assurance of getting home.

Thanks Guys I'm going Imco SC for only three reasons

1) I don't have the time to make new rear caps to fit my Zieger steering
2) and I'm not about to re-prop the boat I love my 5 blade Herrings the boat handles perfectly
3) I'm not confident, that IF I break A B-max drive I'll get parts quick enough, (B-max Would be my first choice if it where winter time) if IMCO uses Xr gears I'll have a good supply of gears,

Smity do you treat upper gears Also?

We have been doing upper gears too,the only real problem is the bearings have to come out which destoys them. At that point a upgrade to the Max Machine worx caged bearings is a good move,Smitty

Unhappy second Guess

After second guessing our decision I called IMCO with a few ??

they run all stock bravo XR stuff in the upper the only upgrade is the case, bearings and top cap cooling....

I know some one said that on this thread but Thats not what I was told the first go around.

with that being said there is no Way I'm going down that road... now I'm thinking of calling the season over, and looking seriously at the B-max's

anyone have 28p 5 balde herrings? for a set of 32p herrings LOL

Smile Max Worx-Top Gun-700s

I have a complete billet set of Max Worx drives, put them on over the winter, had a little metal in one on breakin period but all is well so far, change oil often.Had XRs all last season,no problem.I think its how you run the boat. Also,I run 32 5 blade Maximus turning inward and love them.
