Default Bravo 1 shifting

Does the bravo 1 have a switch that temporarily cuts the engine to allow for smoother shifting? I was told only the alpha drives had it. I changed drives from a TRS to a XR. The TRS always shifted smooth. The XR's not so smooth even with the idle real low. Mechanic told me this is normal.

bravo's don't use a shift interrupter, and they do tend to shift different from the trs because of the design difference.
