I recently installed a top cap from Billet Marine with integrated cooler. Fits perfect with the Latham plate.

Do you have the wing plates that wrap around the top of the drive and sit almost flush with the top cap? Thanks

I can get you a good price on the innovative marine Hydro Cool II drive shower (www.innovativemarine.net.) You can mount the pick up port on the drive or route the supply line to your water pump. I have mine routed to my water exhaust coming from my intercooler on my supercharger. Now the drive shower sprays water all the time even with the engine is at idle in neutral. I don't have to worry about any cavitation from the pick up port and drilling holes on my drive. I can trim my drive anywhere and I'm getting the same water flow. It's a great design and concept.

Yep, I run the same and will never use another type or brand of shower.

I never took a temp reading. However when I'm running the motor on the trailer the water is cold. I'm sure at higher RPM's the water may get warmer but it also increase the flow rate. In short the water is still cool to the touch.

I like that idea......hadn't really thought of that. One could plumb the Billet Marine cap the same way. Only difference is that it's not tapped on the tip of the cap, their tap is on the back0. You'd have to come out of it with a 90*. It wouldn't look as clean, but would work the same way.

I'm actually in the process of installing a 3-way stainless tee fitting mounted inside my engine compartment. The discharge water line from the whipple will be connected to one end of the tee and one of the outputs will go to the 3/8" hose routed to the drive shower. The other output on the Tee will be a 5/16" hose pointed up and routed out the original hole in my transom where my discharge was before the drive shower. This way the 5/16" hose will act as an overflow if the shower cap is ever plugged or unable to discharge the amount of water flow from the whipple. This concept is probably not needed but I want extra insurance that the flow from the whipple will not be restricted in anyway.

I'm working with Innovative marine with this project and will be able to sell his unit shortly thru my company.

I like the Innovative marine's drive shower design and since I have a supercharger I don't have to drill a hole in the drive unit for the intake port.

This will also work for your billet cap without any problems. However you are correct about adding a 90 degree fitting.
