:D Thanks Jon! Looks like a trip to Sears/Home Depot is on the agenda. But all I've got for heat is a cutting torch. Will the "plumber's torch" work?

If you have the correct screwdriver I see no reason to try & heat it. It should come right out w/ ease.

This is what I'm dealing with. Doesn't look all that bad, I just didn't have the right screwdriver head. I tried a few wacks with the impact driver, no luck. I'm VERY hesitant to give aluminum any heat...maybe I'll try a plumber's torch instead of oxy/acetylene :D
I'll obviously need to buy a new drain plug so I'll probably get the new one and hit the hardware store to get the right screwdriver/tip whatever. Then I'll see if I can make the groove deeper on the stuck one.
Thanks!

I had the exact same issue....tried everything to get it out, then I "bit the bullet"....Broke out the mig welder, welded a 1/4" bolt to the end of the screw head, & backed it right out. Keep in mind, it only takes a tack, not a full out weld. It really was quite easy, I should have did that first, it would've saved from frustation, & my wife from having to hear my ranting & raving :D....
