Apache 28 x dim
28 Apache X dim
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Does anyone have any info on how the 28 reacts with a raised X dim? I'm wondering if it is worth it to put on 2" shorties when I go through my drives this winter. I find that I have usually not trimmed too much to avoid porpoising and keep hooked up in the rough. After talking with a few people I will be going to a 3 blade to help with the porpoising issue. What are the downfalls of using a 2"shortie and if it is too much then using spacers? Would like to know how these higher HP boats have managed also. Thanks, Dave |

Eric mentioned that most any that he knew of that had raised the x was not happy with the boat afterward-- harder to get on plane, more likely to blow out in the rough. I've decided to not worry about the shorties and just beef up the drives so they're a little beefier.
We're doing a litlle work to this boat right now -- and I will say it's amazing how strong it was built -- pretty much bulletproof:drink: |
