28 Apache X dim
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does anyone have any info on how the 28 reacts with a raised X dim? I'm wondering if it is worth it to put on 2" shorties when I go through my drives this winter.
I find that I have usually not trimmed too much to avoid porpoising and keep hooked up in the rough. After talking with a few people I will be going to a 3 blade to help with the porpoising issue.
What are the downfalls of using a 2"shortie and if it is too much then using spacers?
Would like to know how these higher HP boats have managed also.
Thanks, Dave

Eric mentioned that most any that he knew of that had raised the x was not happy with the boat afterward-- harder to get on plane, more likely to blow out in the rough. I've decided to not worry about the shorties and just beef up the drives so they're a little beefier.
We're doing a litlle work to this boat right now -- and I will say it's amazing how strong it was built -- pretty much bulletproof
