Mark is that exaggerate trim running down the lake to make the big roster tail? Or is that just trimmed properly to run hard? Just curious.

Black Hawks are Surface Drives
Dan,
The Black Hawks you see in the pictures I posted are at about a half a click above straight trim on your Livorsi guage. Since they are surface drives, they send a rooster similar to a number six, but not the same volume. Put it this way, I did not loose any speed because the drives were out too far.... |

There are a few 29 Scarabs out there you can set up with Black Hawks on them. Come on - trade that Baja in for a Scarab. :-) |

When I first rigged it, I never gave much thought to the fact that factory, they had the exhaust routed thru the drive to airate the props. I blew a vertical shaft in two trying to get on plane. Repaired the drive, designed and fabbed an airation system for the props and have since pounded 160hrs onto the drive without a failure :)
Building a bigger motor this winter. Will have the drive freshened and we'll see what it can take next summer. PS, My daytona with a 500efi averaged 30 hrs per Bravo before the switch to the bh drive. Any close up pics of your venting of the props ? |
