They are a surface drive and should throw a nice roost. Seen them on the p29's but never saw one running more than idle. Btw it did idle fast , must be a bear to get in the slip.

When I first rigged it, I never gave much thought to the fact that factory, they had the exhaust routed thru the drive to airate the props. I blew a vertical shaft in two trying to get on plane. Repaired the drive, designed and fabbed an airation system for the props and have since pounded 160hrs onto the drive without a failure

Building a bigger motor this winter. Will have the drive freshened and we'll see what it can take next summer.

PS, My daytona with a 500efi averaged 30 hrs per Bravo before the switch to the bh drive.

Oh, I also added a neutral safety switch override so I can start it in gear. Saves the big bang when shifting.

Whats it cost to freshen a black hawk? What kind of speed change did you see from the bravo to the black hawk on your ride Airpacker?

Cost is comparable to a bravo for freshening.

Boat went from 83.2 best gps to 91.1 best gps with a stock 500efi.
