alpha + bravo Transom holes

Is it true?? does a bravo transom plate have the same bolt hole pattern as a alpha. If so will a input spline ujoints from a bravo fit a alpha pinion yoke. Reason I ask I want to run a extension box on my chris craft stinger. I don't want to have to go to a bravo drive. Thanks JOHN

The transom drilling is the same, spline in the coupler is the same, the u joints used to be the same, not sure on the latest version.

The bolt holes are the same...only thing is on an Alpha the top two hole are not drilled cause the Alpha doesnt have the mounting studs there like the Bravo does....

My first post!

I have a project boat that has an old MR2(pre alpha) drive. I have busted this drive twice now. I want to upgrade to a Bravo, but costs are always a factor to consider. If I swap, what parts of the Alpha can be used successfully?

Thanks!

The engine - everything from the transom inner plate back has to replaced.

I bought a boat that came with a 350/alpha from the factory, then the owner installed a 540CI/bravo setup. Its not all that big of a deal, pulling the motor can be very easy if you have the room, swapping the inner transom plate, outer gimbal housing, an drive. You would have to drill two holes in the transom for the top of the bravo transom plate, no biggie. Alphas dont like big blocks.

I think John's asking if a Bravo extension box will work on an Alpha drive....
If that's the question, will it?
If that's not the question, will it?

Depending on what Alpha, Alpha Gen. II and Bravo I are the same u-joints are same, and transom holes are same. The Gimbal hsg. is very similar. But that's it.
