Default 800-900 hp for bravo xr's

building new motors for my 38 fever with xr drives

will they be able to stand up to 850 hp without modification

if I keep them in the water as opposed to in and out of water !

Any worthwhile changes that can be done to them ( old style xr's).

Thanks

The MAXX Machine tower, clutch shaft , billet top cap and non-full compliment needle bearings w/ your XR gears.Seems to last the longest of all setups.

Somewhere around 4500.00-5000.00 w/ new xr gears and a Max joint set up. Expensive but pretty stout.Same power you are running, knock on wood, they have been excellent.

The trick is to find out before it happens. Reading magnets, color of lube and recognizing shifting problems help.XR gears are not known for their longevity but the near net forging makes them the strongest ones to date. With the stock race tower there is .010 to .015 of deflection and the gear/needle bearing (full compliment) acually "chatters". The Maxx tower has nearly no deflection of the gear, using a non full compliment needle bearing.
