as I have seen nothing posted on the subject, has anyone ever experimented with drive geometry?? everyone tries to make them stronger but has anyone ever considered how diferent setups could effect handeling?? things such as ackerman angles changing the axis of rotation on a turning boat, kingpin angles changing the boats trim while turning or mounting the drives a few degrees from vertical effecting the way a boat leaned in a turn... all these would increase drag to some extent but your back off a bit in a corner, if the changes made for a more stable boat, more power could be applied resulting in a higher corner speed.............

I would think if it has not been thought of yet it probably wont work......Nothing against you brainstorming.....They just have better parts guys were probably duing this sheet in the 80's....

Problem is that water is constantly changing...what may work in a dead calm water situation may spell disaster in a rough chop...boats are setup for a happy medium...racers try and push that happy medium to a manageable chaos by changing their boats setup for max performance...
