Default Mercury Products Price increase

Was asked by a friend thats a boat dealer if I had seen the 08 price increase in petrolum products from Mercury Marine. Didnt think much about it, went to Boaters World to pick up a couple of quarts of High Performance gearlube, and it was $13.55 a quart!!!!! I still have a bottle from last year with the price still on it and it was $8.00. If you know of anyone thats still selling it at last years price I would get it know.

I used to cringe when buying Amsoil gear oil at $9.50 a quart. I wonder if all petroleum products will increase like Mercurys did?

Merc did raise their lube prices dramatically this week but they have not changed the prices in a few years, it has actually been a long time coming.

Anyone know where you can get the 2.5 gallon jugs of Merc HP gear lube? I used to get it from Stem to Stern but they closed up shop.

Any Merc dealer should have them, I'm sure there are several on here that could sell and ship to you including myself but the freight will kill you, just go to your closest Merc dealer and they can square you away.

Thanks. Yeah, that was the nice thing about Stem to Stern. Any order over $100 was free shipping. A 2.5 gallon jug ran right at $97. So, I would always order a filter or some other small item at the same time and shipping was free.
