Default TRS Prop shaft

Looking to replace a prop shaft in my TRS drive.
How big of job is this? Does it require special Merc tools?
Looking for helpful hints

Thanks

Yes, requires special tools and some degree of skill & experience.

Best advice- take it to someone well-experienced with the TRS in your area. Be prepared for it needing more than you planned. It doesn't always work out that way, but mostly.

I may have a propshaft laying around if you need one!

If you reuse the bearings and races it's higly likely that it won't need to be re-shimmed but is has to be checked anyway.

If you want the shaft send me a PM and I'll go check the storage shed and see if I still have it. I believe I also have a verticle shaft, ujoints, pinion shaft and drive shaft.

Here's what I have of my TRS stuff.... I'll take offers...

1. Case - needs the edges of the carrier threads welded.
2. Propshaft - good condidtion
3. lower vertical shaft - good condition
4. upper pinion shaft - overall good but needs a speed sleeve over the seal area.
5. input shaft - good condition

FYI, the Propshaft is for standard rotation TRS and drive gear splines are at the end of the shaft. I believe the Merc PN is 44-92327T1

Oh yeah, if you re-use your existing lower gear/bearing you will not have to reshim the gears, you will just need to properly adjust the propshaft pre-load when installing the propshaft carrier. You should also replace the bearing on this shaft as it's sat for a while.

Wsh3marine, I'll work on getting the propshaft boxed up and sent out to you today. Please let me know when you receive it.
