This is a first for me. I never felt a thing. No other damage detected.

I would assume there would be no need to disassemble for this repair. Any special information I should tell the welder? Any tricks to keeping the temps down while welding etc? Material nuances?

so far down , no problem with temp.
weld it on smoth it out polish or paint it and go :evilb:

Oh I polished it. It is still smooth but that is what the saltwater does to the finish. I salt-away and wash it after every use.:party-smiley-004:
