Default DWP Question

When purchasing a lower drive - what would pesuade one to purchase a DWP over just a low water pickup or normal water pickup depending on drive height. Guess I'm wondering what the advantage of having both is and if having both is ever a requirement.

Afriend of mine swaped out his low water pick up with a DWP because he was having problems with picking up mud and sand. His dock is in shallow water and he would pick up mud and sand. He got tired of flushing the block and supply hoses. Put on the dwp and his trouble stopped.

Low water pickup is no longer available. Only DWP or SWP.
Because of the fact you pick sand and thus over heat. DWP
will prevent over heating.
