Default bravo one x steering alignment

hi,guys maybe someone can help here, recently bought a 32 midnight express fitted with twins, yanmar 6lps,on bravo one x,after a few short runs we noticed that one of the drive is not centered properly with the other, when the steering is dead straight one drive is slightly more to the right,is this an easy fix, also when backing off the throttles the boat will list somewhat and want to hook right, are the two problems related, any thoughts.

Thanks griff, the steering is hydraulic of course, but the pump is in the helm,my question is how do you adjust the drive to center?is this done at the tie bar on the inside, thanks again.

The tie bar is usually mounted on the outside, to the back of the drive or a wing plate. If you have one inside that is a different setup, but should work the same. Making the tie bar longer will affect the postition of the drives in relation to each other..
All else fails.. take some pics..

Interesting, the pump is behind the helm.A friend of mine has a new bertram with twin V6's and its the same.No power steering.Uses an outboard style electric pump.He had been complaining about hard steering and i had'nt looked.Saw him putting it on the trailer the other day and wondered why he was fighting it so much till i looked. No rack or power steer pump. Why would the setup be like this?He tells me even cruising its an effort to drive.

Thanks guys for your input,The steering is really light and sensitive even at idle speed, really has a positive feel to it,The gearing is in the helm pump,i believe these steering types were used on some race boats with good results,One engine has the mechenical pump attached ,but dont feel the need to plumb it up,im quite happy with the handling of the boat as it is now,but as i said in my previous post when the steering is lined true in the boat, one of the drives is definately not straight,There is a tie bar on the inside for sure,My question is,will this be where the adjustment needs to be made, thanks again guys.

Yes,,thats where u make the adjustment. But i would recoment taking that inner tiebar off and ad one that goes on the back of the drives (or a wingplate on the drives) !!!!

I had an inner tiebar brake one time and ,,,,its not funny.

have you checked to see if your gimble ring is loose? all you need to do is swing the drives from the out side and see how far they turn on there owen befor the steering wheel starts to move.they should not move or turn easy.if the one on the right swings farther then the other then you might have woren out gimble ring and steering shaft.then check to see if you can lift up on the drive and see if there is any play from up and down at the top of the ring.should not be much play there also.it worth checking out for your safty.good luck.
