Default Bravo top caps and cooling

(copied here for more opinions)

Planning on upgrading to a better cap. Leaning towards a solid billet Al. that are approx 1" thick.
I'm running halo showers, so no water to the cap. ( Before anyone suggest a top shower, I'm keeping my halos since the holes are drilled in my cav. plates )

Is there a problem with caps this thick building up heat? Another option is the ribbed XR caps if the billet ones might be a concern. I just think the billet offers more housing stabilty.

Thanks

I have been using a cap made by Billet Marine, they are on the web and Curtis is also a member here.Very well made and they have cooling passages machined right into the cap for cooling.

Thanks Anthony

Yes, I've seen them and that is about what I'm looking at, but I won't be sending any water to the cap. Just not sure if anyone had issues with hot caps.

Thanks

If your drive shower is spraying enough water on the sides of the drive, "hot cap" should not be an issue. The case is thinner on the sides so you should get better heat transfer there.
I have heard that salt water can plug up small passages in a cap. Not that I have seen this happen. The salt content in Lake Michigan is quite low..
