Lower unit placement? AHH HELP ASSURE ME!!

so i am getting nervous, i mounted my motors today and we have the engines as low as they can possibly go on the bracket and i HOPE that i have not set the bracket to high( i put a new one on). I have attached some photos, if you could take a look at them and tell me what you think.... i mounted the AV plate 5'' above the bottom of the hull (relative to their position on the transom) and when i put them on today i put a straight edge on the hull and measured and my AV plate is more like 6'' from the bottom of the hull.....(thats when the outboard and AV plate are trimmed level). So i was getting nervous cuz im worried about that water intake on the Lower unit, and i found that when i set the straight edge on the bottom of the hull and ran it back to the outboard, that the bottom of the hull was falling right in the middle of the water intake on the lower unit! PLEASE TELL ME THAT THIS DOSENT MEAN THE BRACKET IS TO HIGH?!?!?!?!?!? Now i spoke with several people and i found that the rule of thumb is water rises 1 inch for every foot you go back, no i have a 25'' set back so i am GUESSING that i will be ok cuz if the water leaves the bottom of the hull, and rises 2'' i will clear the water intakes no problem, but nowwwwww im worried that the blades of the propeller will be out of the water....anyway i was recomended to you guys and i hope you can help me out and help ease my worries, shes goin in the water on sunday! if you could take time to explain why we even raise the bracket at all it would help settle my worries!!!! its a 25'' set back, thus i went up 5'' (but like i said accual numbers when outboard was mounted was more like 6'' above hull)

Default

in my experiance the vent plate is always lined up with the bottom of the hull i have a 34 scarab and a 33 donzi in my yard both with a set back and both are mounted that way. that being said i think you are mounted about 5 inches to high.
