Default TRS Questions Please Help

I am new to the boating and need some help please..
I have a 83 34' scarab with twin 502's and trs outdrives. I just bought the boat from a trustworthy friend and when we pulled it out of storage we realized that one of the outdrives had a busted lower case. I have not figured out the problem yet but am looking for another unit so I can get in the water.. Can anyone help me on what I need to know... Alls I have come up with is its a LH rotation with a 1 1/16" prop-shaft bolt. The sticker on the top of the drive says "500" I have seen some online say "330" can someone please help me on what I need to get
Thankyou

U need to get a TRS LH drive or a lower unit !!!
The # on the top plate are most likely the engine package they came with.
They should be all the same ?! 99% !!
Should be a 1:50 ratio TRS LH !!!

A merc trans has the bell housing on it , the BW is bolted to the bell housing !!
Also the merc trans looks kind of skinny and the BW is more bulky !!

Should not have to do anything with the TRS drive,,,they fit both !!

U can e-mail me a picture and i can tell u what u have ??!!

There also should be a metal plate/tag on top of the trans that tells you if its a borg warner. Red tags were 71C, and Green tags were 72c. My guess, in a 1983 scarab, prob green tag borg warners......they are the good ones..

The drive shaft is different on a Merc trans compaired to the BW.BW has a shaft with external splines and a Merc trans uses a shaft with internal splines and a spring on the end.
