Default trs u-joints

looking for info on how to replace the universal joints on my port trs outdrive. My marine tech @ lake O says they damaged the bell housing when she blew and I will need to pull the engine. Thats no problem but I never replaced the U-joints, and I was told I have to pull the out drive also. Any helpful
info on performing this procedure is appreciated.

Best she ever ran when they blew!

To replace them or pull the engine u should pull the drive ,,then i think u need to go thru the drive as well to replace the u joint ,,because most likely it blew on the drive part !!

The outdrive is the first thing you need to remove. Then you can inspect the u-joints to see what you will need to replace there. Then if the bell housing is damaged that is replaced outside the boat. The bell housing is the part the drive is connected to.It swings up and down on the gimble ring. There should be no need to remove the engine if the bell housing is damaged.
