At Snow City. A local Yamaha dealer. I was surprised by the price too. I bought the last they had on the shelf. They don't sell much of it. The bottles had about a 1/2 inch of dust on them. I kinda stretched the $40. It was actually $40 and change plus tax (prob closer to $50)

You're lucky you were running the AMSOIL. It probably saved your drive. That gearlube can emulsify 10% water and not have any effect on it.

just bought 6 quarts of amsoil for 60 bucks even. full syn. merc. is over priced garbage that is designed to fail sooner than other products, keeps then in the parts buisness.

Merc hp lube is conventional oil with "synthetic additives"
It costs more than many high end synthetics (Amsoil, Mobil 1).
