Default X-dimension help...Need shorty lower???

I measured my X-dimension and prop shaft height on my Formula fastech 271. The x is 16.5 inches and the prop shaft center is 6.5 inches below the lowest part of the hull. These boats are famous for blowing the prop out once coming up on plane. I am trying to solve this problem and get more top end speed if possible. Will a shorty lower help this and if so what length???? Thanks, Jeff Wurl

If u blow the prop out,,at that hight,,then a shorty will make it worse !!!

I would try a bigger diameter prop or 1 with a blade more on it !!!

yeh at 6 1/2'' is on the deep side custon built boats are 5 to 3'', but like DD said if your blowing out now you need bigger diam or more blades, when you get up on plan make sure you are trimed in. tabs down if not try it.
