I have an xr drive that in neutral it sounds like it wants to jump into gear, when i rev it in neutral it catches and spins the prop for a split second on occasion? anybody ever heard of this before?

You may have a shift cable problem. Also check the shift cable adjustments at the engine. If that don't take care of the problem. Than it's in the drive. Will have to take the upper apart. Call if you have any questions. 954 237 0332
