If any one can give some info on adjusting the shift cable, would be a grat help. When running the prop seems to really spin more than a bravo, But this is the first TRS that I've had. Thanks for any help.

What is the actual problem your having? Why would you feel as if it is related to the shift cable? Which transmission do you have the Merc Trans ll or the Borg Warner Velvet Drive?

I have the Borg Warner, like I said I've not had a trs outdrive,Do they normally spin in N. It does engauge F and R. in the past my other alpha and so one spin very slow or not at all. This spins fairly quickly.

What do you mean 'when running'? When running in gear or do you mean when the engine is running, and the transmission is in neutral, the prop is spinning?

If you mean the latter, I have seen TRS boats that the prop will spin quite a bit while in Neutral and out of the water i.e. on the trailer or work rack.

The alpha and bravo drives are mechanical shift, the TRS drive shifts in the hyd. Trans and they tend to spin some when in neutral. Shift cable adjustment is not as critical on TRS. If you are getting fwd and reverse it is probably right. If you take the cable off, shift trans into neut. by hand, put shifter in neutral (Shift/throttle lever) Adjust cable so it slips onto studs freely. Thats it!

I'm assuming your talking about on the trailer.Don't worry they wont when it's in the water and the trannys warmed up.

+1. Once the oil thins out in the trans, they won't usually spin on the trailer(as when flushing after being in salt).
