hello again all im back , well i bought a bravo 3 and its leeking from between the two halfs upper and lower , it looks like its leaking frome the tube from the drive aux res , but when the out drive is up i find oil in the very front were the two halves come together , when i bought the outdrive it was off a boat that burned and it got the tube and the part that goes into the outdrive that secures the tube to the outdrive , im wondering if the part that goes into the outdrive was damaged by the heat and its makeing it leak , because i can see it leak from around the tube but would it cause it to leak from inside , the two halves and leak out between the two , any help would be appericated

Jim,
Are you saying you have a leak where the drive mounts to the helmet on the transom assy or a leak between the upper and lower housings on the drive?
I think you are referring to the joint where it mounts to the helmet.. If so, there is a seal with a check valve (steel ball) on the drive side and the plastic fitting on the helmet that opens the check valve. If that is the area of the leak I would look at the area on the fitting that the seal sits on and see if it is round, or look for burrs on it.. that would cause a leat at that point.
Does your bottle drain when the drive is off.. It shouldnt..

Hope this helps
Dick
