Question click, click, click coming from Bravo 1, what is it?

I have a 454mag and Bravo 1, when I put the drive into gear I hear a "click, click, click" sound. The sound gets faster and louder with higher RMP's. It started out as a very quiet sound, but got louder as the day went on. Now it is very loud. Sound occurs in both fwd and reverse. Performance of the boat has not been effected. What do you guys think is the problem? Thanks.

Are you sure its in the drive. Sounds like an exhaust manifold leak from what you describe. If you lost a gear tooth, it would have come apart completely in a short time.

If it makes noise in both forward and reverse, then it is either the drive gear in the outdrive, or you have a bad u-joint.

Either way, stop using the boat and pull the drive off and start inspecting things.

I've taken apart units and found gear teeth loose inside. As last post suggested stop using boat until you inspect the inside of gearcase. I see this post is two days old, so what was it?
