Default Weismann Hammerhead?

Hey anybody running these drives? Any good?

How does the Weismann stuff stack up to the no.6. I'm also thinking about these drives.

The WMD and WDP looks like good alternatives to 6's.

Just my 2 c.

The WDP hammerhead is a prototype. We are working on the production tooling now.

The WMD is a replacement for the #6. 175 lbs lighter and much stronger.

The WSD is the first drive we did strictly for racing. We are changing the tooling to use the gimbal from the WDP and WMD to make it production friendly.

Pat

Thank you very much for the info and pics.

Will a drive like the WDP make the boat slower, if it replaced a #6 setup - like a B3 would be compared to a B1? Any sternlift issues compared to a single prop setup?

Is the cutout for a Weismann drive the same as a ¤6?

The #6 is a very inefficient drive. Our drive allows you to have any gear combination we can come up with. example. 1.55 , 1.56, 1.75, 1.76, 1.77 1.22,1.23, 1.24 etc.... If we ran the same ratio as the merc we would put more power to the prop and allow for more pitch or diameter= more speed.

The WMD fits over a #6 hole.

Thw WDP is a very short drive so it sits lower on the transom allowing the engines to be installed lower.

We have not run enough and on the right kind of boat yet to know how good the WDP will be. It was more of a tractor to max load the drive to see where the weak spots are going to be, there were none. Now we are working on the performance boat to explore top end speed verses other drives.

I like having the dual prop on a single. A dual should be even better. We are working with Throttle Up on the new props and they are very big in diameter and pitch.

We are not running the typical set ups that most people have run. We started there and went away from that and kept the speed but gained a tremendous amount of stability.

Sternlift is something we will deal with with rotation of the lead props and the trailing props. We can change that rotation on both and the gear ratio front to back to set the boat perfectly.
