Default Bravo One Drive Identification

Is there an information source that explains the differences in the 3 phases of bravo one drives listed in parts books? Is there any way to identify the vintage of a bravo drive if there is no serial number?

Thanks.

??? Is there no way to tell the vintage of a Bravo 1 drive without the serial number? I have 0KXXX drives and am considering purchasing a used drive as a spare and would like to get one with interchangeable internals. The used drive I am looking at does not have a serial number but is reported to be a 2001 drive. How can I confirm what it is?

Thanks.

The main difference would be that the earlier ones didn't have remote gear oil reservoirs inside the bilge. Mine is an 88 and the gimble doesn't have a remote reservoir and has the drain plug in the bullet, not exactly sure when they started putting the remote reservoir/drain plug behind the prop.

The other difference would be LWP/HWP, I'd try to match what you already have.

If my memory is is correct the gear lube res enhancement started around 1990/91.. The later model drives had moved the drain plug to behind the prop. And then in around 05 if my memory is correct the angled style upper housing thing started.. Jamie / Lakeside

Tell us what you see and we can help. Too much differences to list it all.
88-89.. no resovior. 90-99.. old style thin floored gears.
2000- ? Thick floored gears. ? to present hump back style case and just before them was the new design setup the upper gears...

If you want, give me a call I can walk you thru what you have.
