Default X-Dimension and Chine Walk

I have a triple step, notched 30 Advantage Victory with standard 496HO's and B1X drives turning stock B1 28 pitch wheels inward. I have great time to plane w/o tabs and overall, it runs well. On glass at 70mph and above, it starts to walk a bit (wife says it's scary), probably because the hull is so far out it rolls over....

Would a reduced X-Dimension help reduce the chine walk by placing the hull deeper in the water at speed? How much would I loose on the bottom end???

Thanks

Or less trim. Possibly spin props out.

Over 60 mph a boat needs hydraulic steering, no slop in linkage or gimble and correct toe on drives. a little loose goes a long way to give a lot of chine walk.

Thanks All,

Alfons, it has been suggested to try 5blade props,,do you have any other suggestions?

Irish, I have tried spinning props out, but that lessens bowrise on this boat and tends to bowsteer, less trim does kinda the same thing. That does keep it from walking, but bowsteer is just as bad IMHO.

Gerry, I have full twin ram hyd steering and the gimbals are in good shape, so no slop...I did have a brazi system w/ hyd assist when I got the boat, then put on full hyd and it did help, but not completely...

It has been said on another forum that a deeper X will settle the walk as opposed to shorter X..
