Kwooley,
what year is the drive and how many hours on it. Depending on how much damage is done inside, and the condition of the drive before the damage, will determine if it is better to rebuild or replace..

It's a 98 with 380 hrs on it, as far a I know. I have only had the boat for 2.5 months and they guy told me it was original. Oil has been changed and all the MNT. things.

Assuming the serial number begins with OL.. that would make it the old gears.. Best bet is a X gear kit upgrade. If the case is in good shape, inside and out, then it would be a good canidate for a rebuild.
I have a blend of parts that I build a B1 one with. I install steel tower in the case and use the XR ribbed top cap that also has a steel tower in it. PM with your email address if you want an estimate.
