Default trs leak, help !

guys, i have a 1975 20ft cig all original withe trs i just put full hydraulic steering on it and the wing plate attachs to the rear cap, torqued the cap to recommended spec and now i have some seepage at the top of the cap not the sides or the bottom , u can hardly see it but if u wipe it with a paper towel u get residual gear oil off of it. maybe i disturbed the gasket when i put the new studs in the rear cap for the wing plate. is it hard to change out the gasket ? is there anything i should know about taking the cap off like having to reshim anything ,can i pull the cap off, clean up the surface , put on new o ring gasket and retorque to 20lbs.

Yep. Very easy just make sure the shims stay in place when you remove the cover. All you should need is the large o-ring part number 46 in the picture.Part number 25-39695. http://www.perfprotech.com/store/ass....aspx#assembly

TRS top cap has no shims. It will take 5 mins to replace O ring seal.
