Default Sharpening skeg on sports master

Anyone have better speeds by sharpening the skeg on a Sports Master drive? They looks so dull to me.

I have heard you should not shorten the skeg. I don't see where it would hurt to knock the dull off of it though but I been wrong before. Just thought someone on here would have tried to sharpen one.
