No. All TRS's used transmissions with taik stocks that mounted in the transom assembly there fore there was no need for a long shaft. The input/yoke shaft on a TRS using a Borg Warner has external splines on it. The input/yoke shaft used on a TRS with a Merc Trans ll has internal splines.

Yep--makes good winter conversation though.Heres a tidbit---if you shifted the motor w/ the drive off,the clutch plate would fall out of place, have to pull motor and realign clutch disc.

Ran into that drive when I was first getting into the biz - was my worst nightmare. It shifted with a speedo type cable drive by the clutch actuator (if I remember correctly)

thats the one! Anybody that ever touched one remembers it. Worst design in boating history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some of the trs drives did have a tail shaft like a bravo or alpha they were used on staggerd setups with a carrier bearing and driveshaft had a old scarab that was set up that way
