You have to be able to run with me to to see how I drive. I can't understand how you know anything about my driving when all you'll ever see is the back of my boat pulling away.

I guess that's why God made no wake zones. So there would be somewhere a Formula could keep up with a Hustler.

I may have alot of the parts you need to repair your drive. I have an XR swept back with gear failure for parts. PM me with the parts you need I might save you some money.

Well, as expected the gears failed. Fortunately no case damage. I would rebuild it myself but with a busy schedule and poker runs four weeks away I just told the shop to fix it. Should have it back next week.

Sounds like you need a spare.....and I happen to have one I don't need anymore! :)

As soon as I get over the hit from this repair I definitely plan on keeping at least one spare. Unfortunately between this and Uncle Sam holding his hand out I'll have to wait a bit....

Bottom gears had some pitting so swapping those out too. No need to put it back together with a weak link. About $3500 in for parts right now. This winter I may start building some heavier duty drives for it.....

Were both lower gears pitted?? Pinion and driven, or just one??

Thanks!
Dick

I have all the old parts in a box to analyze. I was so busy just getting the boat back together this weekend I didnt get a good chance to study all the old parts in detail. I'll try to post up some pics of anything I find.....
